A 1980s basement renovation was stripped back to the studs to create a warm family room for movies, play and entertaining. Tired shelving was reimagined in vertical grain walnut, and a new linear gas fireplace faced in metallic tile creates a striking focal point. New aluminum doors provide a strong visual connection to the landscape.
An adjacent bathroom was gutted to create a black on black spa bath. Features include an undermounted tub, oversized (2 x4’) textured matte black tile, smoked glass display niche and sink wall (the latter with a recessed medicine cabinet), and a wall mount faucet. Lighting plays a key role and includes Bocci wall sconces, recessed ceiling lights, strip lighting in the display niche and under the vanity, and integrated task lighting in the medicine cabinet.
